Bethany Murals Project
The Bethany Improvement Foundation, a 501-c-3 charitable foundation, is now working on the Bethany Murals Project. The City of Bethany solicited funds for the first murals on Asbury and NW 39th Expressay, painted by internationally-known Bethany muralist, Dr. Bob Palmer, in May, 2010. The Bethany Improvement Foundation commissioned additional murals which were painted at College and NW 39th Expressway in May, 2011.
The Bethany Improvement Foundation is soliciting grants and donations to have additional murals painted on Bethany's buildings. If you are interested in contributing or having a mural painted on your building, contact Dr. Arlita Harris, 405-312-0155 or make an online here.

Events
The first Bethany 66 Festival was held in downtown Bethany on Saturday, May 28, 2011. The festival opened at 11:00 a.m. with the Diffee Classic Car Show at Route 66 and Asbury, Edgar Cruz Concert in the Entertainment Tent at the Children's Center, and venders, merchants, and other activities throughout the downtown area. The Festival closed with a concert by Mountain Smoke in Cantrell Hall on the SNU campus at 6:00 p.m.
